Who Can Apply for a Work Permit
You may be eligible for an EAD if you:
- Filed Adjustment of Status (Form I-485)
- Are applying for asylum
- Have a pending U visa, VAWA, or DACA case
- Hold specific non-immigrant statuses allowing employment authorization Are renewing an expired or expiring EAD

How Long It Takes
Processing times vary, usually between 3–8 months. We track each step and advise on interim options if your job is at risk. Some cases qualify for automatic extensions when renewing — we’ll confirm that before your old card expires.
Renewing or Replacing a Lost Card
If your EAD is about to expire or has been lost, stolen, or damaged, we handle quick refilings. You should apply for renewal about 180 days before expiration to avoid work interruptions.
